Introduction
An issue related to the brake monitoring function has been discovered inside our firmware. This issue
impacts only ACOPOSmotor Compact using motion firmware starting from V5.15 up to V5.22.
Error description
During machine run, the ACOPOSmotor Compact is continuously monitoring the brake to evaluate its wear. It
has been discovered that starting from V5.15 up to V5.22 the error counter for break wear monitoring was
mistakenly set when the encoder counting direction was set to ncINVERS.
This issue does not impact any safety related functions (STO).
The correction is now available inside firmware V5.22.1.
Consequences & impacts
As immediate action, we will not autorise anymore the usage of firmware versions below than V5.22.1 with
ACOPOSmotor Compact.
Older FW versions will be blocked by DCD entry on ACOPOSmotor Compact delivered from now to any
customers. New ACOPOSmotor Compact will not work anymore with the old firmware but even existing
ACOPOSmotor Compact application will need to be updated to at least version V5.22.1.
