We're happy to inform you, B&R has received its first Cyber Security certification - the IEC 62443-4-1
certification for the product room Automation Runtime.
The successful audit by TÜV Rheinland demonstrates the IEC 62443-4-1 compliant implementation of B&R's
Secure Product Development Lifecycle in our Product Life Cycle processes.
This is an important milestone for B&R and our customers. B&R proves publicly its commitment and
engagement in Cyber Security.
What is IEC 62443 and why is it relevant for us?
The IEC 62443 series are internationally recognized Cyber Security standards applicable and used in
various industries, like maritime, food or energy. The series addresses the Cyber Security needs and supply
chain efforts of asset owners, service providers/system integrators, and component manufacturers.
B&R adopts this Cyber Security standards, to protect our brand and business, but also to enable future
business where Cyber Security demands in our product are no longer optional.
Out of the entire IEC 62443 series, the following two Cyber Security standards are most relevant today for
B&R.
